2019 Updates

Hello Racers,
Our 2019 points series kicks off Thanksgiving Saturday 11/24 with our traditional Sonoma Raceway event. Registration is now open @ www.dlbracing.com. As usual we are willing to trade future entry credits for workers. If you are not racing and want to help please contact jim@nckroadracing. Our complete 2019 series schedule is now available under the schedule tab.

NCK will be hosting our 2018 award dinner at the conclusion of Saturdays event. Final points are now posted under the results tab. We are trying something new this year and are having the event catered by the tracks provider. It will be inside the media center rather than the cold garages. Dinner will consist of burgers, hot dogs, chili, assorted salads and refreshments. We need a rough headcount for dinner. Many have already rsvp'd on our facebook page. If you have not responded on facebook and plan on attending please respond with an email to jim@nckroadracing.

We are changing our race day format and points structure for 2019. The new race day schedule and class groupings are posted under the schedule tab. Classes are split into 3 groups. After open practice each group races 3 times on a rotating basis. Each race has a winner getting full points. There are no more heat races. We have dropped all the A and -II subclasses. You can enter the same class all day. If you are a IKF 99 stock moto class #8 you will see 3 options for class 8. Race3, race6 and race9. Pick all the races you want to be in. In effect this will be adding 2 races to the day vs our current format (9vs7) We will need the racers to be gridded and ready for each race to stay on time. Grids will leave without you if you are not ready.

The 2019 points series will combine all races for each class over the year and the best 60% (rounded up) will count for year end. If the class ran 19 times the best 12 will count. Without all the subclasses each class will have one class champion who has truly beat the best. Updated points series rules are now posted under the rules tab. Please read them as there are some changes to how they are tabulated.

Another small change is that weight for the 80sr class will now be 380lbs per competitors requests.

Please read them and familiarize yourself with the new formats. We do realize change is hard. All this is being done to make things easier for both you the racer and our limited NCK management team. We need to all work together to make this work.

Lastly if anyone would like to help plot the future of NCK we are accepting nominations to join the board of directors. If you would like to be involved in decisions that effect the club and its operations please let one of the board members know. Our greatest need would be a candidate that is a non racer and would like to be involved in coordinating race day operations.

Thank you for racing with us.

It's All About the Tracks

Northern California Karters Club uses and accesses some of the best racetracks in California. While the name Northern reflects the original location at the time of the club establishment 10+ years ago. The fact is that our series uses tracks based all over our great state.
